A game-changing vision for Gladstone

Welcome to Byellee Waters, a project that can transform the region with a world-class golf offering, outstanding community and event facilities and unlock new tourism and economic opportunities.

Gladstone is in need of a new home for its golf course, with the current site undermined by a range of issues that means it will soon be unsustainable. The answer is Byellee Waters, an 18-hole Championship Course set in a pristine landscape of freshwater lagoons and bushland that has the potential to be the best layout between Noosa and Port Douglas. But golf is just the beginning; Byellee Waters will provide a contemporary hub for the Gladstone region, top-tier function and events spaces and a gateway to immaculate nature reserves. It represents a new dawn for Gladstone golf and a worthy centrepiece for our growing community.

The Current Issues

The present course is heavily constrained by neighbouring properties, meaning measures have been put in place to ensure a duty of care for nearby residents and retailers. Those include banning the use of drivers on certain holes, reducing par, relocating greens and the likely closure of entire holes. The cumulative result means it will no longer be a viable golf experience for our members and visitors.

A Championship Vision

The New Course

Byellee Waters will be designed by Richard Chamberlain, who has a long association with iconic course architects Graham Marsh and Ross Watson. The masterplan features 18-holes of Championship-standard golf, practice greens, a driving range and a Centre of Excellence to encourage talented juniors to pursue the game. Byellee Waters will fill the void of world-class golf that exists between the Sunshine Coast and the Far North and become a must-play destination in Queensland and beyond.
